Report #30 Podcast #5

A self-organized flea market in the northeast corner of Beijing persists over the years despite its status as an illegal market.

  1. This episode is long overdue for release. We recorded it in the Spring of this year but spent a lot time reworking it because originally the series was going to be part of a work-related exhibition, but with little support from OPEN, Jenny and I decided to pursue it as an independent project instead. I'm working on a grant submission to the Asian Cultural Council for funding to produce five additional episodes next year.

  2. One more thing, if you haven't subscribed to the podcast yet, you can do so by opening iTunes, then clicking on the 'iTunes Store' in the left column, and then use the search box in the upper right corner to search for 'Reports From Beijing'. A page will come up allowing you to subscribe to the podcast. This will allow future episodes to upload automatically in your iTunes podcast page and sync with your smartphone or tablet when connected to your computer.

  3. Hearing this made me really incredibly proud, as a parent, to have raised a son who created this. If this architecture/design thing don't work out so good - there is always journalism.
